International Freight & Logistics Network (IFLN), the premium global network of logistics operators, has introduced its VAL Management system to provide an innovative new service for customers with global supply chain needs.

Houston, USA, July 1, 2008

IFLN is in a unique position, alreay possesing a global supply chain management system that is truly neutral and non-asset based, through utilizing the services of the group’s members throughout the world. IFLN is now using this position from which to launch its VAL Management (Value Added Logistics) system, which utilizes a cutting edge e-Management platform that enables efficient coordination of its supply change management services. In addition VAL Management better supports IFLN members when competing with multinationals on global accounts and special projects.

IFLN President, Michel Vanlerberghe, in introducing VAL Management said, “We are sending a clear message to potential clients throughout the world that IFLN is not only a premium network of freight forwarders and logistics operators, but also has a distinct structure to deal with the complex global supply chain management requirements of multi-national shippers.”

The VAL Management structure now significantly enhances the network’s organized and cohesive approach towards new business under the IFLN banner. IFLN is a neutral integrator that assembles and subcontracts transport resources but also has the capabilities and technology to design, build and run comprehensive supply chain solutions.

Vanlerberghe emphasised the unique nature of the VAL Management offering, “Currently many companies are claiming to be a 4PL or lead logistics providers. These operators include multinational freight forwarders or 3PLs, trucking companies, shipping lines and other asset-based firms but IFLN is different. We are a true independent, non-asset based company, enabling us to give an external and a “neutral” view of client requirements. We are relatively small in size, flexible, with no alternative commercial or politic agenda. We are free to focus entirely on customers’ needs. We have a global presence, the choice of the best and most appropriate partners, a wealth of expertise and access to niche market players with local knowledge.”

The e-Management platform that forms part of the VAL Management system is not just a tracking system but provides a range a supply chain management tools geared to handle small or large scale projects. In addition VAL Management services encompass comprehensive RFQ and tender management; operational cost processing and control; centralized expediting and planning of logistics; inventory administration across all locations however remote, as well as global tracking and KPI reporting.

IFLN has already employed the VAL Management system in winning business from those with global supply chain requirements. Vanlerberghe is confident that with this powerful resource the network will attract significantly more volumes of regular and project cargo from multi-national shippers.

Many analysts predict a continuous and significant growth in companies outsourcing their logistics and supply chain management functions. At the same time the trend for multinational 3PLs to consolidate, merge and acquire smaller players will continue. With the introduction of VAL Management IFLN believes it is now well placed to fulfill an important role in this evolving trade environment.

Vanlerberghe explains, “As logistics service providers grow bigger through mergers and acquisitions they become less and less flexible and not so well adapted to serve their customer changing needs. IFLN contends that the future is with 4PL services providers who can design cohesive, creative and innovative solutions. This is the very ability in which IFLN excels, enabling us to position ourselves as The United Force in Global Logistics.”
