IFLN 17th Membership Conference will be held on board of the MSC Fantasia

Press Release – Houston, TX (USA)
February 8, 2010

Preparations for the annual IFLN conference are well underway. Held on board of the MSC Fantasia from March 25th - 28th 2010 for the first time ever, the conference promises to be the biggest ever.

As business is beginning to pick up, the International Freight & Logistics Network (IFLN) has chosen an excellent time to celebrate 10 years of success and achievement.

Developing new strategies in a relaxed atmosphere is also a form of paying tribute to a great idea that has worked and is still working for the 170 Members of the network.

The core idea of the IFLN is to deliver supply chain solutions by means of collaboration between Members to the benefit of both big and small shippers. Everything from container loads to personal effects, from heavy machinery parts to the smallest widget can be delivered. The art is to do it well.

“2009 has been a challenging year that put many companies in our industry to the test. But we are very pleased to see that overall the Members of the IFLN family lived through the crisis (some of them even managed to increase their turnover) only to come out better prepared and stronger to meet with the challenges of a new decade”, says Michel Vanlerberghe, President of the IFLN Group.

Vanlerberghe added, “The ability to serve clients on a global basis and offer more value added services remains a critical success factor. There is an absolute need for medium size independent companies to be part of a well-structured global alliance. The IFLN’s ultimate goal is to strengthen the network and create an environment with active, well established and like-minded companies enabling the Members to compete and acquire new business on a regional or global basis.”

People and communications are also fundamental key elements in the freight forwarding business. Many of IFLN Members have recognized that investing, training and having real people in direct contact with customers at a time when some of the multinationals are shedding staff offers a clear competitive advantage.

"If you lose qualified people and forget about customer service, you automatically lose service quality," says Vanlerberghe.

“One of our main objectives for our development and success is to continue to introduce the IFLN Group to potential multinational customers and demonstrate that IFLN Members not only have the local knowledge, but also offers first class service through a well-honed system of worldwide alliances,” he adds.
